Cat Uti has Moved.
He has a urinary tract infection.
He can not pee , he is miserable. and it kinda looks like he might die on me . I hope not.
I have been in and out of the emergency room a few times the past few days and in the past two days he hasn’t produced more than half a table spoon of pee. He barely moves. Except when I give him his antibiotics , then he put up a fight. He also still gets all big eyed and happy when I swing a string near him. But he just lays there and limply slaps at the string. The doctors have him on Clavamox.
I have no idea what I will do without this cat. He fricken fetches , he follows the command “watchem” and “get em” 16 lbs of kick ass cat and he is hurting.
I have changed his diet but I fear it is to late.
I have no desire to do anything until I see the end of this ,which ever end this may be.
If your cat is peeing in small amounts, Take it to the vet if you have not seen the vet since you noticed. .. this will not just go away, you have to increase the cat acids and lower his/her magnesium and a few other things . you can’t allow the cat to eat seafood of any sort. . your cat has a bacteria build up that is going to crystallize and turn into sharp rocks that cut on their way out, this will cause blood and swelling eventually stopping the pee all the way.. end result, dead cat.
For my cat it turned out he needed a catheter and lots of pills. A few days after I posted this everything went bad.
was he started squatting and trying to pee , everywhere he walked. then finally he shut completely down and just laid there. When I saw this I ran him to the local vet and had them stuff a tube up him and break him free. It seems the crystals built up and formed a small plate that covered the exit to his bladder kind of like a scab. When the vet shoved the catheter in him first thing was about half a cup of blood oozed out followed by lots of chunks of hard stuff, finally followed by about 3 pints of urine.
if it was not for that tube, those crystals would have tore him up.
The vet kept him three days giving him acid shots and other stuff for pain.
Almost a year later he is fine and playing fetch again.
